COMMITTED TO A GREENER WORLD

TRERÉ DEFENDS OUR PLANET FROM THE FRONTLINE

Our planet is suffering. And we can’t simply replace it with another. That’s why Trerè Innovation has committed to a clear mission: defend our Earth against the pollution that is pushing it past the point of no return. “Committed to a Greener World” is our promise. It’s the guarantee that our every effort aims not only to create the best functional wear, but to do so in a way that truly respects the environment and the communities inhabiting it.

Water

100 MILLION FEWER
MICROPLASTIC FIBRES IN OUR SEAS

THE PROBLEM

Microplastics are one of the biggest causes of pollution to our oceans. These miniscule fragments kill thousands of animal species and end up in our food chain, contaminating what we eat. Washing synthetic garments is one of the main causes behind microplastic dispersal in our waters.

THE SOLUTION

Trerè Innovation has a water filtration plant that catches 425,000 microplastic fragments every day – that’s over 100 million in a year. If we strung them together, we’d get a thread that’s 382 km in length! We stop microplastics from polluting our seas, we collect them and we recycle them.

Air

WE SAVE 410 TONNES
OF CO2

THE PROBLEM

A high concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere – as a result of using fossil fuels for energy production, industrial processes and transportation – has exacerbated the greenhouse effect and global warming. If we don’t stop this, climate change could have catastrophic consequences on human life.

THE SOLUTION

Since March 2019, 100% of the energy that we consume, whether purchased or self-generated using solar panels, comes from renewable resources. In addition to other energy-saving measures, this has allowed us to further reduce our CO2 emissions: by the end of this year we would have saved 410 tonnes of CO2, which equates to a car travelling 2.7 million km – or circumnavigating the world 66 times.

Land

WE RECYCLE 110 TONNES
OF WASTE EVERY YEAR

THE PROBLEM

Around four billion tonnes of waste are produced around the world every year. This has grave implications on the environment and our health. With the way the economy currently works, we are consuming more natural resources than the planet can provide and so we are rapidly using them up.

THE SOLUTION

We recycle the waste we produce: wood, paper, plastic and textile fibres. In a year, we sent for recycling 110 tonnes of material, which is equivalent in weight to over 60 cars. Waste products are then reintroduced into the production cycle as secondary raw materials. This allows us to reduce waste and avoid exploiting resources, promoting a circular economy.

SUSTAINABILITY TEAM

WE’RE STUDYING NEW ECO-FRIENDLY
SOLUTIONS EVERY DAY

There is a team at our company that is managed by an environmental engineer. The team spends each day studying new ways of reducing our impact on the environment to a minimum. Protecting the planet means safeguarding the elements of which it is composed: our water, our air, our land. In every one of these areas, we have achieved significant results. And we’ve measured them, in order to set ourselves even more ambitious targets. Building a greener future isn’t a race – but we strive for first place in everything.

MISSION 2022

A TOTAL GREEN SUPPLY CHAIN

Our commitment to sustainability has received international recognition. Trerè Innovation was among the first companies in Europe to obtain the SteP (Sustainable Textile Production) certification by Oeko-Tex®. This guarantees that all our textile processes for manufacturing socks, base layers and sportswear are sustainable. In March 2019, that certification was confirmed as a level 3 – the highest achievable. Our goal by 2022 is to help our suppliers meet the Oeko-Tex® standard so that they too will be awarded the Made in Green by Oeko-Tex® certification – an indicator of the utmost respect for the environment.
